Liana Ghent is the Director of ISSA since 2006. Under her leadership, the network has expanded to include over 80 member organizations from across Europe and Central Asia, engaging a dynamic mix of NGOs, research centers, higher education and academic institutions. She has held leadership positions in the non-profit sector for more than 20 years, primarily in higher education and in early childhood development. Her leadership experience includes being Regional Director and later President of the Civic Education Project (CEP), a non-profit organization which supported higher education initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Before joining ISSA, she worked with the Open Society Foundations’ Higher Education Support Program. She served on the Board of Directors of the Consultative Group for Early Childhood Care and Development. Currently she is a member of the Interim Executive Group of the Early Childhood Development Action Network.
Liana is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher.
