Annual Conferences
ISSA’s annual
conferences are organized with the aim to bring together educational
professionals from all around the world and provide a forum for
dialogue between East and West, as well as between practitioners, NGO
representatives, researchers and policy makers. As testimonials
from participants in recent ISSA
conferences show, these inspirational international events provide many
opportunities for professional development and for exchange of ideas
both through thought-provoking keynote speeches and during interactive
sessions.

The conference, co-organized by ISSA, DECET and Open Academy Step by Step Croatia, will explore in an interactive manner innovative ways of professional learning that can empower ECEC workers in their search for quality, equity, and respect for diversity. In this context we will look at examples of interesting practices that illustrate innovative approaches to professional learning that empowers ECEC practitioners working with children in increasingly challenging, diverse, and uncertain contexts.
The co-organizers invite practitioners in early years services and primary schools, policymakers and researchers to explore questions related to the professionalization of early care and education personnel, through dialogue and a joint professional learning process.
The language of the conference will be English with translation into Russian and Croatian.
More details about the content can be found in the announcement and additional information will be available in early 2012 on the websites of the co-organizers.
