ISSA Materials Included in International IDEA’s Civic Education Research Database

ISSA is honored announce that several of its publications have been accepted for inclusion in the International IDEA (Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance) Civic Education Research Database. 

The Database part of a five year research partnership on civic education between International IDEA and  the University of Montreal.  The project working group has also submitted detailed questionnaires to governmental experts in 35 different countries.  The resulting data, which is a compilation of all aspects related to civic education, is available for reference by country and indicator in the Civic Education Database.  You can browse the database by visiting: http://www.civiced.idea.int/.

ISSA’s Civic Education materials which appear in the database include: Step by Step Case Studies which appeared in the Summer/Autumn 2005 and Winter/Spring 2006 issues of the ISSA Journal, Educating Children for Democracy, Speaking for Diversity: Promoting Multiligualism in Early Childhood Education: Effective Teaching and Learning for Minority Language Children (training module and teachers’ guide),  Educating for Diversity: Education for Social Justice Activities for Classrooms Training Program and Teachers' Guide, Parenting with Confidence and Getting Ready for School,  "A Good Beginning": Democratic Education in Estonia (case study),  Step by Step at the Roma Settlement in Jarovnice-Karice, Slovakia (case study), Education for Social Justice Training Program for Adults, and the ISSA Pedagogical Standards.
