ISSA Article on Rights-based Approach to Education for Roma Children Published in Bernard van Leer Foundation's Early Childhood Matters
ISSA is pleased to announce publication of an article written by Executive Director Liana Ghent and Program Consultant Dawn Tankersley in the Bernard van Leer Foundation's flagship journal Early Childhood Matters. The article shares ISSA's rights based approach to education for Roma children and captures ISSA's most important principles related to quality educational experiences for preschool aged children, revolving around inclusion, democratic practices, and equity, from a rights-based perspective. This issue of Early Childhood Matters: Realising the Rights of Young Children: Progress and Challenges, reflects on twenty years of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, featuring articles discussing various aspects of the CRC and General Comment 7 on implementing child rights in early childhood.
