Standards and Assessment Instruments
Developed through the work of international task
forces of early childhood professionals, Step
by Step Standards and Assessment instruments
assist programs working towards a quality education
for children and their families. ISSA’s
standards incorporate the best international
practices for early childhood development, providing
clear, easy-to-use instructions, which can be
used for self-assessment or evaluative purposes.
Teachers may apply to their local Step by Step
NGOs fo international recognition through ISSA’s
teacher certification program. Assessment forms
for preschool and primary ages help teachers
and other caregivers observe and communicate
information about children’s development.
