Aija Tuna

Aija Tuna has joined ISSA in September 2006 but has been connected with the organization since its very beginning as a member of core team in Latvia. During last 15 years she has been actively involved in promoting systemic and purposeful change in the education in classroom, school, national and international level working in different positions in Latvia and being involved in numerous international projects. It included curriculum development, teacher preparation and professional development, adult education and program development, writing curriculum materials etc. Her strong expertise is in social studies and citizenship education, education for diversity, multicultural education and education and project management. Before joining ISSA she has been working for Ministry of Education and other governmental agencies, international organizations and non-profit sector being Program Director of Education Development Center (Latvia) and Country director of CIVITAS: International Civic Education Exchange Program among them.
