EDUCAS hosts a Transnational Meeting in Belgium
This week, the partners of the EDUCAS project spent three days in Ghent and Bruges for a Transnational Learning Activity. The meeting brought together project partners from Lithuania, Italy, and Belgium, as well as Zorica Trikic, Senior Program Manager at ISSA.
Project partners discussed the work taking place, shared case studies and reflected on methods and tools for improving spaces within the Educare approach. Alongside partners, two guest speakers were invited: Siska Van Daele from Karel de Grote University College (Antwerpen), who explained the value of video-coaching when reflecting on practice; and Katrien Van Laere of VJBK, who shared how the Educare approach aims to ensure that children feel a sense of belonging and can participate in their environments. She stressed this is the importance of the Educare approach in fighting inequality. After both presentations partners had the opportunity to contextualize the many inputs through reflection on videos and pictures with a focus on spaces and Educare.
EDUCAS studies how to create educational spaces in pre-school facilities that support children's development in a holistic way – taking into account the diverse need of children and families. ISSA Member VBJK coordinates EDUCAS and two research centers, University of Parma in Italy and ISSA Member Center for Innovative Education in Lithuania, contribute to the consortium’s study. In each country, two ECEC centers are partners of the project (Proges, de Tandem, Hippo’s Hof, Vaikystes Sodas, Aukštelkės)
