Despite increased attention to ECD on both global and national level and the compelling evidence provided by research on the importance of the first years in the life of an individual, still more efforts are needed to elevate the level of awareness among policy makers, professionals, families and the wider public. By formulating this goal, as a Regional Network ISSA is committed to join alliances and contribute to regional and country initiatives aimed at increasing the awareness of the importance of ECD, as well as advocating for stronger political will and investment in services for young children. Increased access and improved quality of early childhood services can hardly be achieved if there is a lack of understanding among key stakeholders of how important these services are.
