Building your Organization's Resilience
How can your organization increase resiliency during challenging times?

During this session, participants will explore the different levels of resilience (individual – organizational – sectoral) in your countries contexts, as well as the seven factors of resilience, looking for the elements the participants can build on in everyday life and see where there is more room for maneuver for action.

Why is it not enough to talk about sustainability in a shrinking civil society space?

We face new challenges every day, and we have to perform in increasingly uncertain circumstances. Through this uncertainty, the resilience of the organization is becoming increasingly important. The CIVICUS report on the situation of civil society in 2017 identified a number of pressing trends that continue to emerge and jeopardize the space for civic participation. Perhaps the most critical point of the report is that only three percent of the world’s population lives in countries where civil space is fully open. This sad reality prompted Partners Global to take action and, through a strategic partnership with CIVICUS, launched the development of the RESILIENCE + framework.

What is resilience-based organizational development?

The framework for developing the resilience of NGOs consists of the findings of the latest scientific and practical research on resilience, complex operating environments, threats to civil space, and civil society organizational models and capacities. The RESILIENCE + organizational development methodology was developed by the CIVICUS international civil society and our parent organization, Partners Global, based on research results in 45 countries.
