Strengthening governance and accountability in Early Childhood Development Service delivery is essential to providing quality and equitable services to children and their families.
Governance is at the center of decision making with regards to the establishment, coordination, and resourcing of organizations and institutions within which ECD service is delivered1. Indeed, effective governance lays out the roles and responsibilities for partners in ECD service delivery.
Good governance is therefore central to quality ECD service delivery including development and enforcement of standards and regulations, adequate financing for ECD programmes, as well monitoring and evaluation of early childhood development outcomes.
