Join the World Bank for an online side event of the Global Education Summit exploring ideas, solutions and approaches for unlocking access to books in the home.

Early reading at home can help children arrive to school ready to learn. But despite the benefits, too many children have little to no experience of it, and many families do not have access to suitable reading materials in languages children understand. What can be done?

This event includes remarks from Jaime Saavedra, Global Director, Education, the World Bank Group and Minister Shahpaska, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, North Macedonia. It will share insights from the Read@Home initiative, hear ideas and innovations from Diana Gerald, CEO, BookTrust and Kyle Zimmer, CEO, First Book and discuss how the World Bank is working to get reading materials to hard-to-reach families and address the procurement and distribution challenges that hold back efforts to promote reading.
