Access to early years services is insufficient if it is not accompanied by quality services implemented by motivated and competent individuals within competent systems.
Much of ISSA’s programmatic work has focused on providing expertise and resources that contribute to the creation of quality services. Through thought leadership in the area of quality services, ISSA aims to:
- Ensure children and their families are better served through increased quality of services,
- Support practitioners to improve their everyday child-centered practices by enhancing their competences, especially self-reflection, autonomy, and co-operation with colleagues/peers, families and communities
- Advocate for the importance and complexity of early childhood professions,
- Inform different stakeholders about the need for quality in early years and engage them in dialogue about quality so that better systems are put in place
