Trust for Social Achievement Foundation (TSA) tests and supports innovative, results-driven approaches that increase self-sufficiency and improve life outcomes for Bulgaria’s poor, with a focus on the Roma, who comprise a large segment of the poor. TSA’s mission is to break the poverty cycle by promoting opportunities that help Bulgaria’s most disadvantaged citizens achieve educational and economic success. This is achieved by supporting three key areas:

- Early childhood development (ECD), with an emphasis on healthy parenting and increased participation in preschool
- Educational achievement and drop-out prevention for at-risk pupils, with a focus on improving school participation/learning and increasing graduation from high school
- Access to income opportunities for at-risk groups, specifically job connection, entrepreneurship, and home ownership
In addition TSA supports capacity building for local organizations, with an emphasis on financial accountability, data-based performance evaluation and a participatory approach to governance.

Resources and practices

Distribution of emergency educational kits for children in remote locations, enrolled in our alternative access to quality early education services, which were interrupted due to the pandemic

The Trust for Social Achievement Foundation – Bulgaria has been engaged since the onset of the pandemic in Bulgaria in searching for appropriate mechanisms to support the learning process for disadvantaged children, particularly those who face challenges to participate in the online distance learning, as well as those in remote or underserved locations for whom early learning and care programs were interrupted.

We have partnered with several business and with our network of partners from the local communities to provide equipment (laptops, PCs) for children in need.
