Our strength lies in the expertise and diversity of our Members and their active engagement. We harness this diversity through Peer Learning Activities.

ISSA Members have diverse theoretical expertise in various areas of Early Childhood Development. They are strong in practical experience, project implementation, advocacy, and organizational development. This diversity grows the knowledge transfer among member organizations and their staff.

Together we explore new initiatives and enrich existing programs across countries. All ISSA Members benefit from Peer Learning Activities, to build capacity and deepen their knowledge of best practices. All Peer Learning Activities (PLAs) are financially supported by ISSA with financial or in-kind contributions from members.

Members consider our Peer Learning Activities as one of the greatest benefits of the membership!

Mateja Rezek, Slovenia:

'It was a powerful experience to define the key elements of the success of our network. It reminded us where our roots are.'

2020 Peer Learning Activities

Over the past 11 years, 56 PLAs have taken place within the ISSA network, benefiting more than 13,000 professionals.

Every year, these events involve an increasing number of participants, from professionals working in ISSA Member Organizations, to practitioners.

Five Member Organizations hosted PLAs, sharing their expertise and experience – ranging from inspiring best practices on how to help children confront negative emotions, to fruitful discussions about the accessibility of childcare centers. You can read about them all in the 2020 Peer Learning Activity Overview.
