EDUCAS

How do you create Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) environments that support children’s development in a holistic way, taking into account the diverse needs of children and families, with special attention to the ones at risk of social exclusion? The aim of the EDUCAS project is to do just that – create child and family friendly learning spaces in ECEC centers.

ISSA Conference

ISSA Conference is a unique platform to listen to the world’s leading Early Childhood experts, an opportunity to learn from your peers, but also to share the knowledge and experience you have gained. ISSA unites researchers, practitioners and policymakers from around the world. Together, we explore themes through discussion and interactive sessions, and we share lessons learned and proven solutions from which you will benefit instantly.

Module 9: Home Environment and Safety

Injury is a leading cause of death and disability globally for children 5 to 19 years of age. The majority are unintentional injuries – injuries that result from an unintended incident without anyone intending that harm be done to children. These are not “accidents,” as they are preventable and for young children, the majority of unintentional injuries occur in the home.

Module 23: Becoming a parent: Prenatal visits to families

Transition to parenthood is one of the major transition points in individual and family life courses. It mobilizes personal identities, relations, and gender roles within families and imposes a series of (expected) changes that result in capacity building, the development of new behaviours, roles, and relationships in order to adapt to being a parent. Changes in a woman’s body and prenatal growth and development of the unborn child are certainly the most obvious aspects of the prenatal period.
