A row concerning the basic 'right to settlement' emerges in the Netherlands. Several Traveller groups, including Roma and Sinti, have occupied vacant trailer lots that were once appointed to their community.

The Know How Centre has worked with Roma communities for the past 6 years. This year's program however was their most successful until now: they managed to motivate and support Roma parents of 29 children to apply for kindergarten.
‘The birth of a child mobilizes all the people in his or her community. The family, but also all people in its surrounding social environment. It is during these first years that a child develops its tastes, understands social codes, and feels a sense of belonging.
Any child, wherever he or she is from, deserves quality education starting at birth. The Romani Early Years Network (REYN), which is coordinated by ISSA, is launching a new website to keep echoing this message.
