The Know How Centre has worked with Roma communities for the past 6 years. This year's program however was their most successful until now: they managed to motivate and support Roma parents of 29 children to apply for kindergarten. A huge milestone and a great motivation to endure their support and empowerment of parents in their pursuit of better futures for their little ones. As a result, the Know How Centre widened their program scope and offered new services.

Any child, wherever he or she is from, deserves quality education starting at birth. The Romani Early Years Network (REYN), which is coordinated by ISSA, is launching a new website to keep echoing this message.Today 80% of Roma are at risk of poverty and every third Romani person lives in a household without tap water. Segregation in schools with Roma-only classes is striking and there is growing concern about a Roma public health emergency which puts the most vulnerable children at risk.

Step by Step Foundation for Educational and Cultural Initiatives of Macedonia is organizing an online initiative under a nationwide campaign raising awareness about the importance of equal access to education for Roma children and parents. This campaign is part of the activities of the Roma Empowerment and Awareness for Democracy through Education Project that the foundation is implementing with the financial support of the European Commission and Open Society Foundations.
