Aflatoun Non Formal Education (social and financial education)



The Aflatoun Manual for Non Formal Education is developed for all children who happen to be learning in a non-formal environment. The partnership with Liliane Fonds has encouraged us to pay particular attention to issues of inclusivity and diversity, especially where disabled children are involved. It is a sobering thought that around the world, the majority of children with disabilities remain out of schools.

AFLATOT Manual (Social and Financial Education for Early Childhood)



The Aflatot program for children who have not yet entered primary school (typically 3 to 6yrs old) aims at providing the building blocks of social and financial literacy, equipping children with the skills and competencies that will ensure they contribute to sustainable development – individually and collectively. The Aflatoun Manual should be used by professional teachers or facilitators who are equipped with Aflatoun technique and pedagogic to deliver sessions from the manual.

Reading Corner Kits - Opening Magic Doors: Reading and Learning Together with Children (6-8 YRS)



ISSA has created three Activity Kits to accompany selected groups of Reading Corner books. The Kits offer teachers, parents, and caregivers guidance on the most efficient ways to engage children in exciting and meaningful learning, using books as a starting point for inquiry and action. Each kit includes an Activity Book and 4 of the Reading Corner children’s books, chosen for age appropriateness.  The different kits are for the following ages:

You Are a Really Good Friend of Mine

The Icicle



Alex wants to buy his mother a birthday present, but all he has is a frying pan! He bangs on it with a street orchestra to earn money, but the musicians chase him away. When Alex fills his frying pan with soapy water to earn money washing cars, that doesn't work either. Finally, with great ingenuity Alex brings his mother a charming and original gift!

The Doll's Nose



Mary's friends have beautiful dolls, but Mary has no money to buy one. With her mother's help, Mary creates a beautiful doll out of objects she finds in her house. But what will she use for the doll's nose? Mary comes up with an ingenious solution--and when she shows the doll to her friends, they want one just like it!

The Doll that Flew Away



A young girl plays with and falls in love with her best friend Zulaa's doll. Wanting the doll all the time, she takes the doll home. Once she learns how badly Zulaa misses her doll, she returns the doll learning the importance of friendship.
