The Know How Centre has worked with Roma communities for the past 6 years. This year's program however was their most successful until now: they managed to motivate and support Roma parents of 29 children to apply for kindergarten. A huge milestone and a great motivation to endure their support and empowerment of parents in their pursuit of better futures for their little ones. As a result, the Know How Centre widened their program scope and offered new services.

The coordinator of REYN Bulgaria, Trust for Social Achievement (TSA), organized a grand meeting and see through in the Fakulteta Settlement outside Sofia. Fakulteta is one of the largest Roma settlements in Europe. An estimated number between 25.000- 50.000 people live there.

An international workshop and meeting on the segregated education of Roma children will be hosted in Budapest January 25th- 26th. The event will include discussion about the impact of segregation in schools and facilitate the exchange of practices between those working for the prevention of segregated education.

The segregation of Romani and Traveller children in schools and the prejudice inflicted on many Romani families across Europe has been brought sharply into focus over the last few years. Through ISSA's initiative, REYN - Romani Early Years Network, organizations and individuals members skilled in delivering quality early childhood services have been working with Roma children, families and practitioners to reverse these practices and give young Romani and Traveller children an equal chance from the very start.
