Early childhood workforce:
A qualified workforce is crucial to enriching early childhood experiences

While teachers are a crucial part of Early Childhood Development services, they make up just a fraction of the early years workforce. Decades of research have shown that home visitors can increase parental wellbeing and efficacy, decrease child maltreatment and improve a child'd life and learning prospect.

Across sectors, too little is known still about professionals working with families and very young children and the people who mentor them. By providing a clear picture of the Early Years Workforce (the professionals), their preferred guidelines and educational kits, the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative (ECWI) hopes to help policymakers in specific countries support the overal improvement of professionalism in the educational sector.
